The future of online, accessible, flexible learning with Cranfield School of Management

As Dean of Cranfield’s School of Managment, David leads the executive vision of the School and is a strong supporter of the future of online learning at Cranfield.

David joined Cranfield University as Pro-Vice Chancellor and Dean of the School of Management in September 2019. He is a trained environmental and natural resource economist and is also Professor of Environmental Sustainability. David represents Cranfield as the only UK Dean on the global Continuous Improvement Review Committee for AACSB, one of our School’s major accrediting bodies.

Originally based in the land use sector, his research and consulting activities have expanded over the years to examine the wider food supply chain, particularly helping organisations find optimal solutions to multi-dimensional environmental problems, examining trade-offs and synergies between financial and sustainability objectives.

Elmar is the Programme Director for Cranfield’s Global Online Stackable Programmes and leads on the creation of an impactful learning experience.

With a background In the IT industry, in commercial and senior management roles, Elmar’s passion for managing risk and uncertainty led him to pursue a career in academia. Joining Cranfield in 2007, he engages widely with industry and publishes extensively on challenges to managing the unexpected.

Elmar has been involved in the development and design of Apprenticeship programmes and customised executive education, providing intuitive and deliverable-based learning methods. In 2017, he received the School of Management’s Teaching and Learning Faculty Award for excellence in researching, developing, delivering and publishing impactful case studies.

Emma is a subject matter expert of the Organisation Design modules, co-authored with Visiting Fellow Perry Timms.

Joining Cranfield in 2002, Emma is Head of the Changing World of Work Group. She is a recognised expert in Human Resource Management and plays a leading role in a number of global research projects in this area. With a PhD and an MSc in Applied (Occupational) Psychology, both from Cranfield, Emma is the author of Managing People in a Contemporary Context (Routledge) and editor of six other books.

Emma teaches on graduate and executive programmes in the areas of Human Resource Management, Talent Management, Organisational Behaviour and Research Methods and her research interests relate to the impact of the changing external context on managing people.

She was recently placed 3rd in the HR Most Influential Thinkers List 2022 by HR Magazine.

Joe is a subject matter expert of the Making Sense of the Economy modules, co-authored with Professor Constantinos Alexiou.

Joe joined Cranfield in 1984 and established the Economics Group ten years later. In 2017 the Economics Group was ranked Number 1 in the world by the Financial Times for the teaching of economics on MBA programmes and has been consistently ranked as one of the Top 10 in the world for more than a decade.

He has held a variety of senior posts within Cranfield including Director of the Full-Time MBA Programme, Director of Graduate Programmes and Academic Dean within the School of Management. He held the post of Pro-Vice Chancellor of Cranfield University from 2005-08 and served as Director of the School of Management 2014-15.

Joe is a frequent commentator within mainstream media on macro-economic concerns.

At the onset of the pandemic, Graham took on the role of Director of Digital Education for the School of Management and is responsible for the School's Digital Education strategy.

Graham has 25 years' experience within the Higher Education industry, spending much of this time implementing technology solutions for customers and learners at Cranfield. More recently, Graham has spent much of the last ten years working in executive education designing and implementing programmes for senior leaders across a range of sectors including government, sport, retail and banking.

Currently undertaking a PhD at Cranfield School of Management, Graham's research examines the impact of digital transformation on people, the future of work and how future technologies impact society.

Lauren is your host for this live event and has been instrumental in the launch of Cranfield's new Global Online Stackable Programmes. Joining Cranfield University in 2021, Lauren is Head of Marketing for the School of Management, leading her team in building the global visibility of the School.
